Spring 2018 ACT Assessment for 11th Grade Students
February 27, 2018
Make-up date is April 3, 2018

Grade 11 students will be given the opportunity to take the ACT in the spring of 2018, at no cost to the student.  Each public and charter school with grade 11 is expected to administer this assessment.  However, parents or guardians may request that their student not participate in grade 11 ACT test administration.  Click here for more information.

 School Choice:  Osceola School District participates in School Choice.  The School Choice Application must be filed with the nonresident district or postmarked no later than May 1 of the year in which the applicant would begin the fall semester at the nonresident district.

Osceola High School is tightening up the policy that is already in place concerning student checkout, in an effort to ensure student safety.  Students will not be allowed to leave with anyone who is not listed on their contact list in the computer database.  Phone calls, letters, or any other form of written or verbal consent will not be accepted, including emergency situations.  If a parent/guardian or approved contact person is not available, under no circustance will the student be allowed to leave.  Students are not allowed to sign themselves out , regardless of their age.  Any student who signs or leaves campus without permission, will be considered truant and the appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.  No exceptions will be made.  We are asking that parents update their phone numbers, addresses and approved contacts with their phone numbers.  Please feel free to use this sheet to update this information or come by the high school any time between 8-4:30, Monday through Thursday.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 870-563-2192

Parent Involvement Plan

The District policy shows who is on the Parent Involvement Committee and their positions.  It also shows the goals of the Parent Coordinator & the Facilitators.

Each school Parent Involvement Policy has very valuable information:  who the Coordinator is for each campus, the committee members, communication strategies, proposed parent meetings, and how parents can volunteer.

School Games Rules

Students, Grades K-5, must sit with an adult.

Students, Grades K-8, will not be allowed to enter the game without an adult.

HS Incentives - How to Qualify

(1) Class Grades- A=4pts., B=3pts, C=2pts, D or below=0pts.

(2) Attendance-1 pt. for each day that you are present for the ENTIRE day w/o Tardies.

(3) Behavior-Each discipline referrel= minus 50 pts.

(4) Tutoring- 1 pt for each day present in Early Start and 1 pt for each day present in After-Scool Support.

(5) AR Points- 20 AR pts = 5 pts.

(6) Participation in Approved School Organizations- 5 pts. for each membership of active participation.

(7) Approved Community Service Hours- 25 hrs=5pts, 20 hrs=4pts., 15 hrs=3pts., 10 hrs=2pts., 5 hrs =1 pt.

No Zero Policy Letter -This letter was sent home to inform the parents of the procedure to eliminate zeros.  This policy will be implemented January 4, 2016
