State of Arkansas Scholarships and Grants
Complete one online application (the YOUniversal application) for programs such as the Academic Challenge Scholarship, the Governor’s Scholars Program, the GO Opportunities Grant, and many other state-funded programs. Visit www.adhe.edu to create an account and apply. Deadlines vary, most are June 1. **Governor’s Scholars deadline is Feb. 1**
Creative & Performing Arts Scholarship Competitions
Sponsored by the Thea Foundation, open to any Arkansas senior in the areas of visual arts, creative writing, performing arts, performance poetry, fashion design and film making. GPA, test scores, and majoring in the arts are not a requirement! Awards range from $2,000 - $4,000. Deadlines begin February 15. Register online: www.theafoundation.org/scholarships.
UALR Science Scholars program
Up to $5,000 per semester for students attending UALR majoring in biology, chemistry or earth science (geology). The UALR general academic scholarship application serves as the application for this program. Must have minimum 3.0 GPA and ACT of 24 or above. Must submit a personal essay and two letters of recommendation. Priority deadline is Feb. 1, but applications will be considered anytime. See Mrs. Hoskins for more information.
ARK-LSAMP (Arkansas Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation)
Minority students with GPA of 2.9 or higher and ACT of 19 or above, majoring in a STEM area (science, technology, engineering or math) and planning to attend UAPB, ASU, Philander Smith, Pulaski Tech, Southeast Ark. College, U of A, UALR, or UAM. Amount of stipend will be determined by the individual college (UALR awards $800 per semester, for a total of $6,400). Priority deadline is Feb. 1, but applications will be considered anytime. See Mrs. Hoskins for more information.
Richard and Elizabeth Dean Scholarship
The Richard and Elizabeth Dean Scholarship is a preferred amount of $5,000 each year for up to four consecutive years to graduating high school students. This is a nation-wide program. The selection process shall be based on academic merit with an initial minimum GPA of 4.0. Deadline is Feb. 15. Life Lessons Scholarship (deceased parent or guardian)
Qualified entrants who submit essays or videos about how the death of a parent or guardian impacted their lives are eligible for $1,000 - $10,000 in scholarship money. Denso Manufacturing Scholarship
For any Mississippi county senior, the award could range from $500 - $1,500, and is based on academic achievement and career goals. Must plan to attend college in Arkansas. Applications available in the counselor’s office and were emailed to all seniors. Deadline to apply is March 31.
Mandy Coats Memorial Scholarship
Must be an active member of a church, be of high moral character, exhibit a strong work ethic, and have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Personal essay required, and must have two references, and one must be from the pastor or minister of your church. Deadline is April 1. State Farm Scholar-Athlete Program

R. Preston Woodruff $1,000 Scholarship -- RANDOM Drawing
Seniors planning to attend any college in Arkansas can apply online for a $1,000 random drawing scholarship from the Arkansas Student Loan Authority. Those students drawn as random winners can compete for a RENEWABLE $1000 scholarship by submitting an essay ($4,000 over 4 years). Deadline to enter is April 1.
