Advanced Placement and Pre Advanced Placement

ABOUT US

Osceola School District provides Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP) courses for students in 5th-10th grade and Advance Placement (AP) courses for students in 11th and 12th grade. Identified Gifted & Talented (GT) students can be served through Pre-AP /AP courses, as well as non-GT students who choose to meet the expectations of an advanced classroom.

Pre-AP courses are on-grade level courses designed to challenge motivated students to understand rigorous content. The coursework requires students to engage in independent and analytical assignments and to complete additional work outside of class.

Pre-AP teachers are specifically trained to utilize teaching methods that prepare students for challenging high-school AP curriculum while simultaneously teaching the Common Core State Standards.
