OHS Juniors compete to bring home Top Honors Awards in county wide competition!

OHS Juniors compete to bring home Top Honors Awards in 

Youth Leadership County Wide Competition at ANC.

Today our 11th grade Youth Leadership students traveled to Arkansas Northeastern College (Blytheville Campus) to compete in the Youth Leadership Development . This competition includes 6 additional school districts in Mississippi County and our Osceola students brought home the honors!  

The OHS team includes the following members: Kadan Newson, BreAnn Fultz-Foster, Damia Grice and Alyssa Crafton (in order of photo attached). 

All took home the following awards:

-1st place for the Group Presentation (all members)

- 2nd Place Individual essay Presentations :  Kadan Newson (11th grade)

- 3rd Place Individual essay Presentations  Alyssa Crafton (11th grade)

These students began this program in September 2022 by traveling to the state's capitol to undergo workshops led by State Representative Joh Milligan and Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward (see more here). 

All year long our students have been dedicated to attending workshops focusing on  

  1. ·         Mind: Social and Emotional Well Being
  2. ·         Body: Food Preservation, Safety, and Nutrition
  3. ·         Civic Engagement
  4. ·         STEM & Agriculture

Osceola High School would like to thank Osceola's 4-HCounty Extension Agent Ms. Neely , University of Arkansas  Division of Agriculture, Arkansas Northeastern College and most importantly all of the teachers and administrators here at Osceola High School who make it possible for our Seminole Junior class to soar!
