Clear bag policy now in effect for all Osceola School district events.
Osceola, AR – Osceola School District announced it has implemented a clear bag policy effective immediately.
New rules limit the size and type of bag allowed into any of the Osceola School District venues. The policy was enacted to increase safety, expedite foot traffic, and allow for more separation between guests and staff at entry points.
Guest may bring clear bags, such as backpacks, drawstring bags, fanny packs and- one gallon plastic bags, no larger than 12 inches long, 6 inches wide and 12 inches deep into event facilities. Small clutch purses no larger than 4 and a half inches by 6 and a half inches will also be permitted. All bags will be checked at entry points by security personnel, including those required for medical purposes. If medical bags do not adhere to size and type requirements, special exceptions will be made after proper inspection.
“There are several upcoming events, including the Senior Graduation that we would like our parents and community to begin preparing for now.” said Dr. Toriano Green, Osceola School District Superintendent. “Our goal is to provide a safe environment for all students, staff and guest, who attend our events. The Seminole looks out for one another and pushes each one towards success, we are confident this change will be embraced by those in the community”
The Seminoles are midway through basketball season, hosting awards ceremonies and concerts featuring the middle and high school band. For more information on their next event, please visit osd1.org.
