Carroll Smith Elementary congratulates Ms. Taneshia Baker, as February Teacher of the Month recipient. Ms. Baker, second grade teacher, has a leadership spirit willing to take a lead role and actively participate in the PLC (Professional Learning Community) process at CSE. She collaborates with her grade level team and others. Ms. Baker also uses data and feedback to increase student learning and achievement. OMS/Sneaker Ball
The 1st Osceola Middle School Sneaker ball was a success. The students and staff had a blast. The students looked amazing last night. OMS/ATLAS Testing
OMS students will take their ATLAS Writing Assessment on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 for grades 5th and 6th. On March 7, 2024 grades 7th and 8th will test. Students will need to be on time each morning for testing. We are proud of the preparation and growth of our students so far this year. Now it is time to shine on the test.

Reflecting on the Past:
We delved into the resilience and strength of the Black community, acknowledging the challenges faced in the fields and the unwavering spirit that paved the way for freedom.
Honoring Trailblazers:
Together, we celebrated the courageous trailblazers who broke barriers, fought for justice, and left an indelible mark on history, inspiring us to strive for a better tomorrow.
Artistic Brilliance:
The creativity and brilliance of Black artists, musicians, writers, and creators were spotlighted, showcasing the transformative power of culture and expression.
Community Unity:
We highlighted the power of community and the ongoing efforts of leaders and organizations dedicated to empowerment, uplifting spirits, and driving positive change.
Today’s Freedom:

STAR Academy/ Alex Haley Museum
The students at STAR Academy had an enriching experience exploring the Alex Haley Museum and Interpretive Center in Henning, TN! The visit was a fascinating journey through history, with a blend of education and inspiration.
The museum offered a captivating array of attractions, including a theater, a delightful gift shop, and thought-provoking exhibits. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the chance to step into the childhood home of the legendary Alex Haley, a true literary icon.
Our students were immersed in the legacy of a remarkable individual who played a significant role in shaping our cultural landscape. It's heartening to see the curiosity and enthusiasm of our young minds as they absorb the rich history presented at the museum.

What an incredible performance by our Osceola Seminoles! They dominated Lake Village with a final score of 76-50 at the Class 3A state tournament held at Elkins High School this Wednesday!
This win marks their 20th victory of the season! The Seminoles are on fire, and the journey continues as they gear up to face the Bergman Panthers this Friday, March 1, at 2:30 pm.

North/ Ready to Crush Kindergarten
Please join us for our Kindergarten Step Up Day ( March 1 -community event) and (March 8 -North Elementary Pre-k event) as we begin to prepare for the 2024-25 school year. Parents and students are invited to come experience a morning in kindergarten and meet the wonderful staff of North Elementary. This is for anyone who has a child who will be 5 on or before August 1, 2024. Registration packets will be available the morning of the event.
