OHS/EAST Student Spotlight EAST @ Osceola High School & amp student spotlight: Justus Hopper. Justus submitted an application for the Founders Award for EASTCON24. Justus’ project stemmed from watching his grandmother struggle with opening a drink can. His journey began there with thoughts about how to help her. He started with TinkerCad, creating a drawing with Geometric shapes. From there he realized that he couldn’t adjust any dimensions with the precision needed, so he went on to Fusion360. There he recreated his concept in a way that he could make adjustments, then the prototyping began. As of today he has 9 different prototypes with a larger number of iterations. Justus has worked extremely hard on this project, but he knows that he hasn’t quite got it right so he will continue. Justus wasn’t one of the winners announced for Founders Award, but he is a winner in our eyes. #bickby brick

OSD Band The 2024 "Seminoles" Take Mardi Gras Campaign was a huge success. The students from Osceola School District did an amazing job representing their city. They participated in Kreme of Tucks, Kreme of Okeanos, and Kreme of Rex Parades. The loud sound of the drums and the musical instruments filled the streets as they went on to perform on behalf of our city. The students had the opportunity to attend Southern University , where they were in practice and saw what it takes to be part of such a rich history. We are very proud of all the hard work the students put in to make this experience successful. We am reminded of our motto, "Good Better Best, Never Let it Rest Until Your Good is Better and Your Better is Best." We are definitely striving to be the best we can be on and off the field or instruments. Thanks to everyone who supported us in any way! We would also like to thank my staff and the chaperones who helped make this trip fun, educational and successful. You ROCK!!
