Support Services Faith James and Veronica Gavin attended the Arkansas Teachers for National Board Certification (ATNBC) and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Information was provided to the attendees relating to the process, practice, mentorship and incentives of becoming a National Board Certification Teacher. They will share information obtained with other certified colleagues who are interested pursuing National Board Certification. This is an amazing opportunity for teachers who are certified or has a provisional license working towards becoming certified. #brickbybrick

Support Services The Support Service Department, Career Development Training Institution(CDTI), and the Arkansas Rehabilitation Services (ARS) are providing opportunities for rehabilitation counselors and schools to develop partnerships in an effort to prepare high school students with disabilities the knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve a successful transition from high school to post-secondary life. The Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Transition Counselor works with students, teachers, principals, and other appointed school staff, as well as families and community resources. Together they coordinate services and develop programs with the intent to improve and provide quality post-school outcomes through student engagement in Vocational Rehabilitation programs. Students will eventually be able to earn wages while participating in the on the job training program as well. #brickbybrick

Support Service Department The Support Service Department had a very enriched and productive professional development day on August 9, 2023. Student's data was reviewed and discussed. A plan was put in place to help assist with closing the academic achievement gap for the students. Other things that were discussed were common errors found on paperwork, online platforms and the special education annual performance report results. #brickbybrick
