OHS / Mighty Marching Seminoles and the Purple Sapphire Majorette Dancers
It is with great pleasure we celebrate our Mighty Marching Seminoles and the Purple Sapphire Majorette Dancers on a job well done. They competed in the Fordyce "For the Culture" BOTB and did an outstanding job.
Each band completed two rounds playing the best songs in their playlist consisting of six songs; three in each round. Our students stepped up to the challenge and had a great time. They performed against Fordyce High, Little Rock Southwest, Smackover, and Little Rock Parkview. Our Majorettes won 2nd place overall and the Band placed 3rd place overall.
We would like to send a special thanks to the band staff for a job well done. We are extremely proud of our students and look forward to our growing future.

11th graders awarded Scholarships / OHS
Two 11th graders given scholarships while walking away with the 2022-2023 Youth leadership award!
Winners Kadan Newson, BreAnn Fultz-Foster, Damia Grice, and Alyssa Crafton created a service project that would help their High school! These students led a club all school year to help students learn how to operate machines like drones & sublimation printers. All while attending monthly leadership workshops these students presented a grant proposal (to purchase machines) and partnered with East Initiative to create more learning experiences for the students at OHS!
Kadan and Alyssa went on to enter individual essays during this competition that placed them in 2nd place, each winning college scholarships!
Please congratulate these students when you see them! We would like to thank all of the community partners who helped our students develop this amazing project!
