Congratulations to Kadan Newson, OHS junior, on being selected to participate in the 2022 - 2023 my Congressional Youth Cabinet. Kadan will have a chance to influence the policymaking process and better understand how Congress works. The my Congressional Youth Cabinet is a nonpartisan initiative for high school juniors that teaches them about the legislative process and ways citizens can get involved.

The administrators of OHS want to send a big THANK YOU to all of the students, staff, parents, coaches, and community members for helping to make homecoming a success.

Country Western vs Country Club

On October 8th, Mrs. Rosie Willis hosted a benefit walk as a fundraiser to beautify Luxora, AR. Several staff members donated to this event. Toshiba Pugh, OHS Principal and LaPorsha Hall, OHS Counselor, participated in the event. It was great fun!

The Osceola Police Department is one of the pillars in our community. Each year they host National Night Out, which is a community event. This is a time when the police department interacts with the community in a fun way. Students at OHS volunteered to help make this event a success. JROTC cadets, OHS cheerleaders, OHS girls' basketball, and their coaches and sponsors helped with various activities such as face painting, managing play on the blow-up toys, and setup. Our students recognize the importance of giving back to a community that pours so much into them.

October 6th was Instructional Coach's day. Even though her title is Interventionist, Ms. TreQuita Smith performs whatever job needs to be done to serve our students. She has been a tremendous help in coaching teachers to help them become better for students. Thank you so much for all of your hard work Ms. Smith. We are grateful to have you on our team!

October 2nd was Custodian Appreciation Day. OHS wants our custodians to know that we appreciate them keeping our building and grounds clean. Thank you so much, Mr. Bobby, Mr. Miner, Ms. Jerikaye, Ms. Freddie, and Mr. Wesley.
