On Saturday, April 15, Arkansas Teacher Corps fellows and staff met at Chicot Elementary in Little Rock for the fourth and final All Corps professional development of the 2022-23 year. We had so much fun while learning new skills, developing our content knowledge, and growing as professionals. Shout out to Marvin Mosby (ATC '21), LeAndra Grant (ATC '20), TyKesha Cross (ATC '20), and Maddy Meigs (ATC '21) for leading highly rated breakout sessions on engagement strategies, interactive notebooks, culture-setting, and lesson hooks!
ATC Summer Mentors Prepare for 2023 Institute
Summer is almost here, and we're just weeks away from the start of the 2023 ATC Summer Institute! We have an amazing team of mentors this year who are stepping into their own role as leaders and learning how to best support our incoming cohort of new fellows. Congratulations to our 2023 summer mentors: Alexis Brooks (ATC '22), Cametriss Spann (ATC '20), DaLecia Jones (ATC '19), Freda Calloway (ATC '20), LeAndra Grant (ATC '20), Marvin Mosby (ATC '21), and Nneka Love (ATC '19)!
The mentor team (nicknamed the Support Squad) recently came together for a professional development retreat in Little Rock on April 8. They collaboratively practiced evaluating objectives and lesson plans, identifying high-leverage grows according to the TESS rubric, and writing specific, actionable feedback. This retreat fell in the middle of the mentor development scope which includes training in goal-setting, building relationships, designing and facilitating professional development, adult learning, emotional intelligence, coaching mindsets and tools, personal organization, and time management.

Teacher Appreciation Week!
This week we celebrate and honor our teachers. We appreciate your passion for teaching children and young adults not only what they need to learn, but also how to learn and how to find the meaning and joy in learning. Teachers, please take a moment to pause and realize that the impact you have on the Osceola School District and beyond will continue long after you close your last gradebook. Thank you and enjoy the rest of the school year.

Arkansas school districts are Constitutionally required to post their current millage rate on the annual school election ballot each year, and voters can vote “For Tax” or “Against Tax”. If the District is not trying to change the millage, the vote is immaterial. If it passes it stays the same, and if it fails it remains the same as it was. If a district’s millage does not change, an increase or decrease in your property assessment value is the only thing that would affect the property taxes you owe.
