Important Parent Letter from the Secretary of Education – State Testing Information Dear Parents & Guardians, Jacob Oliva, Secretary of Education, has shared an important letter regarding the upcoming statewide testing for students in grades 3-10. These assessments play a crucial role in measuring student learning and academic growth. Key Points: Students in grades 3-10 will take the Arkansas Teaching, Learning, and Assessment System (ATLAS). Subjects include Math, English Language Arts, and Science. End-of-course exams will also be given in Algebra I, Geometry, and Biology. Test results will be available in early fall and will help determine advancement opportunities, interventions, or additional support. These tests are adaptive and untimed, allowing students to focus and perform their best. How to Help Your Child Prepare: Ensure they get a good night’s sleep before test day. Provide a healthy breakfast. Encourage them to do their best and stay focused. For more details, visit the Family Toolkit here: https://dese.ade.arkansas.gov/Offices/public-school-accountability/assessment/family-toolkit #webleedpurpleandgold
