OMS 6th grade teacher, Katie Stokes (pictured in the middle), was recognized during the month of October as the teacher of the month. Ms. Stokes has a passion for making sure her students are successful in English Language Arts. She strives to also help them become better individuals with each school day. CSE/i-Ready
CSE students will take their i-Ready Winter Diagnostic beginning Wednesday, January 17th and Thursday, January 18th. Please ensure that your child is here each day for testing. Your child can even earn Seminole Bucks for extra recess time and treats when they come to school both days for testing, when they arrive on time for testing, and when they are engaged throughout their testing session.

Inclement Weather Notice
As we move through this winter season we want to make sure that everyone stays informed of any closings we may have due inclement weather. This year we no longer have AMI days so if the school is closed due to inclement weather it will have to be made up.
Closing announcements will be posted on the Osceola School District facebook page, Kait8, Fox 13, News Channel 3, and Action New 5.

Special Board Meeting
Osceola School Board will hold a special meeting to discuss appointing an interim superintendent on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1:00pm in the Jr. High Cafeteria.

During the Osceola School Board’s regular meeting on January 8th, the Board voted to place Superintendent Dr. Toriano Green on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a personnel investigation. The Board will hold a special meeting to consider hiring an outside investigator to investigate and determine whether Dr. Green violated district policies. The Board will also consider appointing an interim superintendent to serve during the investigation. Notice of the special meeting will be provided once the meeting has been scheduled. Because this is a confidential personnel matter, no further information may be provided at this time.

Before the close of the first semester, Principal Kenya Leaks tasked teachers with a door decoration contest. The prize consisted of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
