Due to winter weather, Osceola School District was forced to cancel classes on January 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th. Please note the following makeup schedule for the canceled days:

These days will be regular school days, and the last day of school will be Friday, May 31, 2024.

CSE/Kagan Professional Development
CSE teachers participated in a fun filled, engaging, and exciting training using Cooperative Learning Strategies. Ms. Kelly Johnson demonstrated many ways to use cooperative learning to effectively boost student engagement. Engagement is crucial to academic growth of our students. The training included a day of class building, teambuilding, social skills, celebrations, and goofy games to boost engagement. CSE teachers are excited to implement these research based strategies in their classroom. Great things are happening at CSE!

CSE/Learning Literacy Strategies
Ms. Lyndsay Rogers, Solution Tree Literacy Instructional Coach, demonstrates a Summarizing Strategy that teachers will implement in their Literacy classes. Ms. Rogers actively engaged teachers in reading a text, then using the new strategy to summarize the text. Teachers will now practice this strategy with their literacy classes in order to write meaningful summaries of text.

CSE/ MCLS visit
Ms. Bowman, Asst. Director, and Ms. Dean, Keiser Branch Manager of the Mississippi County Library System recently visited 3rd and 4th grade students at CSE. Students were given the opportunity to sign up for library cards and informed of upcoming events at the Osceola Library. CSE students are encouraged to participate in the Summer Reading Program at the library that is full of fun, learning, and prizes. Thank you Ms. Bowman and Ms. Dean for helping build a love for reading in our students!
