Carroll Smith Elementary congratulates Ms. Taneshia Baker, as February Teacher of the Month recipient. Ms. Baker, second grade teacher, has a leadership spirit willing to take a lead role and actively participate in the PLC (Professional Learning Community) process at CSE. She collaborates with her grade level team and others. Ms. Baker also uses data and feedback to increase student learning and achievement. Celebrating Culture at Carroll Smith Elementary!
Today was a day filled with pride, rhythm, and a whole lot of culture at Carroll Smith Elementary! Our Black History Program, aptly named "It's a Culture Thing," brought together students, staff, and families for an unforgettable experience.
Fashion Show Extravaganza:
The stage came alive with a dazzling display of styles, colors, and creativity as our students showcased the beauty and diversity of our culture. Fashion, after all, is a vibrant expression of who we are!
CSE Steppers Stepping for Our Culture:
The CSE Steppers captivated us with their rhythmic and energetic performance, stepping to the beat of our rich heritage. A dance of unity and celebration that truly echoed the spirit of our culture.
Tributes to Our Culture:
We took a moment to honor and pay tribute to the luminaries who have paved the way. Inspirational stories and heartfelt messages resonated, reminding us of the strength and resilience deeply embedded in our culture.

You are invited to attend CSE's Family Literacy Night, March 5, 2024, beginning at 5:00-6:30 PM. Be sure to be on time so that you do not miss out on the fun, games, prizes and snacks for CSE students. Come see your teachers dressed as book characters!!

CSE/ATLAS Assessment
CSE 3rd and 4th Grade students will take their ATLAS Writing Assessment on March 5, 2024. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before and on time the day of testing. Students need to arrive by 7:30 to eat breakfast and report to class. They can earn Seminole Bucks for being present , on time, focused, and engaged during the testing session. We are so proud of the growth CSE students have achieved this year. Now is the time to show everyone else by doing your best on the test!!

CSE/Congratulations
We are pleased to share with you the OEP Grade-Level Ranking Report for Osceola.
In 2022-23, 4th grade students in Carroll Smith Elementary demonstrated greater growth in math than 4th graders in 90% of Arkansas schools.

CSE/ NED's Mindset Mission
Carroll Smith Elementary students enjoy an interactive performance with the entertaining character NED. NED stands for: Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best!! NED uses storytelling, illusions, and yoyo tricks to teach students valuable lessons along an entertaining journey. Thank you Mrs. Erika Thomas for bringing NED to CSE!

Osceola School District will have Parent Teacher Conference on Thursday, February 15, 2024. Conferences will begin at 10:00am, with the last conference scheduled at 5:30pm. Schools will break for lunch at the following times:
ALE - 12:00-12:30
North - 1:00-1:30
CSE - 1:30-2:00
OMS - 2:00-2:30
We look forward to seeing you for Parent Teacher Conferences!
As a reminder, there will be no school on Thursday, February 15, Only Osceola High School will attend on February 16, and no school on Monday, February 19, 2024 for Presidents' Day.
