Hello families! CSE has two veteran teachers that have decided to retire. We would like to invite you to drop in to wish Ms. Humphreys and Jean Wycoff well in their next journey.

Hello families! CSE will celebrate students for efforts toward their EOY (End of Year) testing! We are proud of the growth they have shown on their iReady Reading & Math assessments from the beginning to end of year.

Hello families! Today we celebrated CSE’s art students! Kelly Richardson, CSE’s art teacher, has done a beautiful job working with our students and bringing out their creativity. She came to me a couple of weeks ago and stated how she wanted to celebrate her top two students from each grade (one boy and one girl). I told her that I would be glad to help put a celebration together to honor them. Ms. Richardson wanted to give them something really special. So, she ordered sketchbooks for them with the cover featuring their artwork. These sketchbooks were ordered from Artsonia. Artsonia is the world's largest collection of student art, published by teachers and students from around the world. Parents and family can view the art online, leave comments and order keepsakes featuring the artwork (https://www.artsonia.com). Please click the link below to view a slide show of our students’ artwork.

The students that were celebrated today: 4th Grade-Jercari Cannon & Xavior Ward; 3rd Grade-Jakara Jones & Javontay Morgan; 2nd Grade-Sophia Cheng & Terrence Proctor; 1st Grade-Emilee Johnson & Kaiyel Anderson.
CSE is proud of all our students’ work. I want to thank Kelly Richardson for being passionate about art and showing our kiddos that “Creativity is intelligence having fun” (by Albert Einstein).

Hello families! On Tuesday, May 10th and Wednesday, May 11th, our 3rd and 4th graders will take their EOY (End of Year) iReady Assessments for math and reading. Testing will begin at 8:30 a.m.
Our 1st and 2nd graders have already taken their EOY assessments, and we are so very proud of their growth. We are looking forward to seeing the growth that our 3rd and 4th graders will show as well. After all testing/make-ups are complete, we will share the overall growth of our kiddos!
So, before you send your babies to school, encourage them to do their very best! As always, we thank you for your support!

Look who guessed a number close to the actual number of candy in the jar….Jamie Thomas, one of our 4th grade teachers! In addition to winning the jars of candy, she received a nice basket of goodies and a cooler-all provided by Mr. Porchia! Again, we would like to thank Mr. Porchia for providing this fun activity for the staff at CSE.

I wanted to surprise CSE staff with an appreciation luncheon. It was supposed to be a secret and scheduled for tomorrow but I needed to move it to today.
The field of education is rewarding yet challenging. So much goes into growing students as well as with each other. Each staff member played a role in helping our kiddos to grow and I just wanted to show my appreciation.
I want to thank a few folks for helping me to supervise students while teachers enjoyed their lunch…Marilyn McGowan, Lynette Jones, Tony Lambert, Eric Wilson, Sadania Byrd, and Joe Coleman (also went and picked up all of the food)! I also want to thank Tina Gordon for making sure we had volunteers to help supervise and Stefanie Bradley and Lana Carney for helping to decorate.
You are all appreciated!
Principal Coleman

Thank you, Principal Coleman, for the Amazing job you do everyday! You are an important part of CSE! Happy Late Principal’s Day! 💜

Look who guessed a number close to the actual number of candy in the jar….Sherri Chalk, one of our paraprofessionals! In addition to winning the jar of candy, she received a nice basket of goodies-all provided by Mr. Porchia! Again, we would like to thank Mr. Porchia for providing this fun activity for the staff at CSE. We look forward to the next winner!
