Today is the day to celebrate administrative assistants. Tina Gordon is CSE’s administrative assistant. There is so much I can say about Ms. Gordon but the best thing I can say is that CSE is truly blessed to have her on our team. There is so much that she does to help push our school toward success! She is professional and cares so very much about doing a job well done. There are so many things that she does that she’s not asked to do. When she sees a need, she just steps in to do it. I want to thank Ms. Gordon for her service to our campus and especially her prayers for the growth of our staff and students! You are greatly appreciated more than you will ever know❣️❣️

Attention Carroll Smith Elementary Parents
The power has been restored to Carroll Smith Elementary (CSE). All students will return to CSE’s campus on their regular schedule effective tomorrow Thursday, April 21, 2022. The Osceola School District would like to thank all the parents for sending their students today. Today students were engaged with Social- emotional learning (SEL) team building exercises and activities. Please check our district website for pictures of today’s events. A special thanks goes to CSE’s faculty and staff, ABBCO, cafeteria staff, technology department, and transportation for making preparations.

Attention Carroll Smith Elementary Parents
Carroll Smith Elementary (CSE) will be without power on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. A contracted engineering / electrical company from Texas will be repairing a transformer that provides service to CSE’s campus. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) have approved CSE to reschedule the ACT Aspire Assessment Reading portion to another day.
All students at Carroll Smith Elementary will be transported to a designated location within the Osceola School District:
1st & 2nd grade - Seminole Arena
3rd grade - Osceola High School Gym
4th grade - Cafeteria at ALE
All faculty and staff will be present that morning to receive students at the front entrance of CSE to account for each student's attendance and to prepare to be transported to the designated location by bus. Each student will be provided lunch for that day at their designated locations.
Parents, we understand if you choose to not send your student on this day, but this day will be full of engaging activities with Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Character Education, test strategies, and rally’s. Also, if you would like to pick your student up early from their designated location, we ask that you wait until after lunch to do so. If you have any questions please contact Carroll Smith Elementary at 870-536-2371. We truly appreciate your continued support as we shift the CSE instructional day on April 20, 2022 to accommodate the City of Osceola’s Engineering / Electrical Company.

The Osceola School District is still closely monitoring the weather for today, Wednesday April 13, 2022.
Our primary goal is to keep our students and staff safe at all times.

Thank you.

Look who guessed a number close to the actual number of candy in the jar….Pamela Bradley, one of CSE’s problem solvers! Ms. Bradley is our 4th grade math teacher. In addition to winning the jar of candy, she received an ample bag of goodies-all provided by Mr. Porchia! Again, we would like to thank Mr. Porchia for providing this fun activity for the staff at CSE. We look forward to the next winner!

Hello families! Report cards went out today. Please check your child’s backpack.

Hello families! Please join us for Math Night on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 5:00-6:30. We hope you will be able to join us!

Carroll Smith would like to recognize the “Star Staff” for the month of February. On the left is Coach Deontae Mitchell. This is his first year as a PE teacher and football coach. Coach Mitchell, ALWAYS has a smile on his face and has a positive attitude. He really has a sincere love for our students❣️Many may not be aware but he really takes time to listen to students to get an understanding behind their thoughts/feelings. I appreciate Coach Mitchell’s positive energy and his willingness to always help.🌟
On the right is Joe Porchia, one of CSE’s paraprofessionals. Mr. Porchia mostly assists Coach Mitchell. He also works in other classrooms assisting teachers, ensuring students get food bags, as well treat gifts and hugs to encourage/motivate students to feel and do better. Not only does he give special gifts to students, he also gives treat gifts/encouraging hugs to staff.
As like with any new beginnings, there comes adjustments and some rocky roads. But when you truly can get to the point where you understand the purpose of working together to better serve our kiddos to help them by us working well together, there really is no limit to what we can do as a team. Coach Mitchell and Mr. Porchia, thank you. I look forward to what lies ahead.🌟

Hello families!
OSD is currently monitoring the weather for today. Dismissal may be delayed due to the weather to ensure that our students and staff are safe. Buses will not be put on the road with imminent danger present.
Thank you for your patience and understanding

Hello families! As you all know, Valentine’s Day is Monday and we look forward to students exchanging Valentine cards/candy during their party. I know many of you would like to send gifts in the form of stuffed animals and balloons. However, gifts will not be allowed to be delivered or brought to school. This decision is based on students getting on the bus with some gift items that might interfere with the driver’s view. Also, we don’t want any students to lose or damage their gift on the bus. Yes, I realize that all students don’t ride the bus but this decision is for all students regardless of their mode of transportation. We do hope you understand.
