October is National Principals Month. To celebrate, we are highlighting the incredible principals and assistant principals who lead with purpose and passion across our district.

Mrs. Pamela Smith, Principal at North Elementary, shared her “why” for pursuing a career in education and leadership:

"I am a primary school principal because I believe the foundation of every child’s future begins in the early years. I am passionate about creating a safe, joyful, and engaging learning environment where every student feels seen, valued, and capable of success. My purpose is to inspire teachers, support families, and empower students to discover their potential—building strong learners, kind hearts, and confident leaders for tomorrow."

Osceola Middle School students and staff understand that life is a puzzle. Solve it! Help OMS say no to drugs by wearing different colors together. Let's paint the school with different colors to represent unity in being drug-free.

Homecoming Week: Let’s Celebrate Safely!🏈✨

Happy Homecoming! It’s time to come together and show our Seminole pride!

Homecoming is always one of the best times of the year to celebrate our students, our school, and our amazing community. As we gear up for a great night of football, fun, and fellowship, we also want to remind everyone that safety is our top priority.

In light of recent tragedies across the Mid-South at other homecoming and tailgate events, we are taking extra steps to make sure our celebration is joyful, safe, and incident-free.

Please remember:

🚫 No alcohol or alcoholic containers are allowed on school property.

🚫 No drugs or illegal substances or weapons of any kind are permitted.

Let’s keep our campus spaces family-friendly and respectful.

We can’t wait to see you all there ! Come cheer loud, celebrate responsibly, and show what it means to be One Osceola

Statement on Last Night’s Game Last night’s matchup against Newport was hard-fought, and while we didn’t get the result we wanted on the scoreboard, we are proud of our players’ effort throughout the game. Unfortunately, after the final whistle, emotions ran high and an altercation occurred involving players from both teams. As a program, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of sportsmanship and respect. This standard is not depended upon wins or losses. What occurred does not reflect who we are or what we stand for. We are conducting a full review of the incident and will address it internally to ensure accountability and reinforce the values of discipline, respect, and integrity. We want to extend our sincere apology to the Newport School District, the Newport community, the Newport School Board, coaching staff, and players. We deeply regret that this situation took place and will take the necessary steps to make sure it does not happen again. We appreciate our fans, families, and community for continuing to support our student-athletes as they learn and grow as competitors and young men. The standard is the standard, and we remain committed to upholding it.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day. Let's remember that mental health is just as important as physical health. Whether today is a good day or a tough day, taking time for yourself, asking for help, and being kind to your mind is always a step forward. You're never alone.

October is National Principals Month. To celebrate, we are highlighting the incredible principals and assistant principals who lead with purpose and passion across our district.

Mrs. Carla Lee, Assistant Principal at Osceola High School, shared her “why” for pursuing a career in education and leadership:

“One of the biggest reasons I chose to enter education was for the lasting impact and legacy it brings. I wanted to help change the trajectory of students’ lives—to be for them what many of my teachers and administrators were for me: LEADERS who were positive role models who showed me that with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible. I was taught the value of education and was prepared for life beyond the classroom because of their guidance and support. Like them, it is my goal to teach the WHOLE child.

Now, as an administrator, my influence extends even further. I have the privilege of impacting not just individual students, but entire classrooms, teachers, and school communities. My life’s purpose is to leave this world “empty,” having poured out everything God placed in me to give. That is LEGACY. That is IMPACT. That is MY WHY.”

Thank you, Mrs. Lee, for shaping the future of the Osceola School District - one student at a time.
